Geoff Davies MD of Capricorn pastoral has recently found international buyers for Fersion Jersey cross cattle. This Cross Bred combination is ideal for tropical climates and this cow breed is an example of the hiefers we are looking to purchase.

We are looking to increase our trading in these types of Dairy Cross Cattle on a large scale. Smaller orders of cattle can be price effective due to our largely discounted freight rates. We attempt to ship all animals live by air freight, benefiting the international buyers with faster access to stock and landed in a better condition.

The average herd size is about 220 cows of which Holstein are the most popular breed. Most Australian dairies use pasture management systems with some type of supplementary feeding program. This results in an average milk production is about 6000 litres per cow per annum.
